Dr. Shahin Akter

Dr. Shahin Akter is a Public health and child health specialist with a quantitative background. She has over 20 years of experience in research, training, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on public health, maternal health, child health, child development, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, urban health, and HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is working as a Technical Director at Eminence Associates for Social Development, of which she previously served as a Coordinator. She holds an MBBS degree from Dhaka University, a General Diploma in Demography from The Demographic Centre, Cairo, and an MSc in Demography and Health from University of London, UK. She is a member of Bangladesh SUN Civil Society Network for Promoting Nutrition (BCSNPN), International Epidemiological Association (IEA), American Society of Nutrition (ASN). She has been involved with many research, training, advocacy, module, and BCC materials development since the starting of her career.

Md. Mostafizur Rahman

Md. Mostafizur Rahman is working as a Senior Program Implement Officer at Eminence. He completed his bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Rajshahi. His interest areas are research, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on development studies, non-communicable disease, maternal health and nutrition, childhood development. Mostafizur has been engaged with comprehensive research activities for perception survey, baseline, monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning studies, as well as multiple advocacy and production of BCC materials since the beginning of his work. Moreover, He Has knowledge and experience in community participation approaches in nutrition and health programs; and sensitivity to diversity issues such as working with women and stigmatized groups.

Md Arif Hossain

Md. Arif Hossain is working as a senior administrative officer at Eminence Associates for Social Development. Before this position, he was a Research Associate at this organization. He graduated in 2010 and earned his master’s degree in 2011 from the Department of Philosophy at Jagannath University. As a Research Associate, he got his specialization in questionnaire preparation, data analysis, supervision of data collection, proposal management and submission, etc.

Sontoshi Mandal

Sontoshi Mandal is working as a Public Relation Officer at Eminence. She completed her bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degree in Bangla from the National University of Govt Bangla College Mirpur, Dhaka. Her interest areas include publication, documentation, human resource management, administration, supply chain, etc. Sontoshi Mandal has been engaged with organization documentation activities, management of human resources, supply chain management, new team member recruitment posses, organizational cultural management, etc. She also has knowledge and experience in diversity issues such as working as a woman with women and stigmatized groups.

Procurement and Maintenance Committee (PMC)

Procurement and Maintenance Committee (PMC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The members go over any purchases and maintenance finances, and meet monthly 1-2 times to discuss and review documentation, and give their recommendations.

Md Arif Hossain

Md. Arif Hossain is working as a senior administrative officer at Eminence Associates for Social Development. Before this position, he was a Research Associate at this organization. He graduated in 2010 and earned his master’s degree in 2011 from the Department of Philosophy at Jagannath University. As a Research Associate, he got his specialization in questionnaire preparation, data analysis, supervision of data collection, proposal management and submission, etc.

Md. Robiul Islam

Md. Robiul Islam is working as a Finance Management Officer. Before this position, he was employed as an accountant at the American Super Specialty Hospital Ltd. He completed his BBS (Hon’s.) and MBS (Master’s) degree in Accounting from the Govt. Rajendra College, Faridpur. His interest areas are financial budgeting and finance management. Md. Robiul major skills are preparing accounts and tax returns, administering payrolls and controlling income and expenditure, auditing financial information, compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans, commentaries, and financial statements, analyzing accounts and business plans.

Md. Ali Monir

Md. Ali Monir is working as an Insformation Technology Officer at Eminence. Previously he was employed as an IT Support Officer at Maruhisa Pacific Co, Ltd, Adamjee EPZ, Narayangonj. He completed his Bachelor’s (Hons.) degree in Computer Science under National University and Master’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the Islamic University, Kushtia. His working area includes installation and configuration of networks, troubleshooting Systems and Hardware, providing IT-related supports to users across the organization, managing information security, web development, systems analysis, network engineering, etc. His interest areas are web design & development, computer hardware & networking, network engineering, etc.

Razia Sultana

Razia Sultana is working as a Nutrition Security Officer at Eminence head office since 2020. She has completed her graduation (Hons.) and post-graduation in English Language and Literature from the Daffodil International University, Dhaka. Razia Sultana holds interest in research and program implementation focusing on the field of food and Nutrition. She has been engaged in promoting nutrition through social media activities, comprehensive research activities, maintaining professional relationships with the field-related clients and stakeholders. She also has knowledge of working in the field of media and communication.

Business Development Committee (BDC)

Business Development Committee (BDC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. Three of them are from directorates, and one from the business development department, and one from the finance department. They meet weekly for proposal and development reviews, and identify business scopes, and discuss financial approvals. There are also monthly meetings regarding the financial documents reviews and budget approval and set the target for business development.

Kazi Fayzus Salahin

Kazi Fayzus Salahin is working as a Senior Data Analyst at Eminence. Besides this position, he is also acting as a Project Implementation Officer, where he has been engaged in several research projects with Asian Development Bank (ADB), Global Research Innovations Team (GRIT), Washington D.C. USA, Spire Research and Consulting, and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. Salahin is a graduate and post-graduate of Statistics from University of Rajshahi. Moreover, he obtained an MBA degree from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. His interests areas include data analysis, data management, team building, public health, research, education policy, nutrition, urban health, etc. Mr. Salahin is the co-author of several publications.

Ummay Farihin Sultana

Ummay Farihin Sultana is working as a Business Development Officer at Eminence. Being a graduate from Daffodil International University, she holds a degree under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science. When not hard at work that involves effective coordination of complex proposal teams, -including drafting and managing task lists and provision of clear communication for optimal coordination of overall process-, proposal development, research, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on non-communicable diseases, maternal health and child development, she holds responsible to provide writing and editing support for key public and private funding opportunities as well. She has been engaged with comprehensive research activities for perception survey, baseline, monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning studies since the commencing time. Farihins’ passion is working with people to solve problems, be it large-scale social issues, organizational dysfunction, or leadership effectiveness. She thrives on understanding the whole system and finding creative and engaging solutions using relationship-oriented and strength-based approaches to create inclusive, mission-driven positive environments for all.

Publication and Documentation Committee (PDC)

Publication and Documentation Committee (PDC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The PDC reviews all the publications once a month, and documentation to see if everything is recorded properly. Especially because we are a research organization, the research and data preservation and documentation is a major part of what the committee oversees.

Nazrul Islam

Nazrul Islam is working as a Communication Management Officer at Eminence. Before this role, he served as a Lecturer at BCMC College of Engineering & Technology, Jessore. He completed his bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Rajshahi. He leads the social media department section where the young team is mainly responsible to implement different projects. He also Manages several online campaigns as well as designed many project proposals, leaflets, concept notes, position papers, policy briefs. His interest areas are research, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on development studies, non-communicable disease, maternal health and nutrition, childhood development, etc.

Shoumik Ahmed is working as a Communication Management Officer at Eminence Associates for Social Development. He has completed his Graduation and Post-graduation from the Department of Philosophy at Jagannath University. His sphere of works includes communication management, social media management, typing, transcription and translation, critical and creative writing, website content writing and updating, report writing and publishing, poster and flyer making, etc. 

Audit and Accountability Committee (AAC)

The Audit and Accountability Committee (AAC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The members are responsible for the financial auditing and fixed asset evaluation that has to have their depreciation values calculated, proper documentation regulated and projected activities. These are overseen by the members that meet once a month.

Policy Review Committee (PRC)

Policy Review Committee (PRC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The PRC manages all kinds of policy-related issues. Eminence has a formal Policy Committee – known as the PRC consisting of five members, that meet once a month and have quarterly meetings to review the 11 policy clauses and subclauses for addition or deletion. These policy amendments are overseen by the quarterly executive committee and annually by the general committee. The committee members are from the senior management team – either members of the BoD or working as the head of any department. This committee gets run by a definite Terms of Reference (ToR) and has a duration of 24 months. More information on the members of this committee, its ToR, activities, and procedures of making recommendations can be found upon request.

Finance Management Committee (FMC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The committee manages all kinds of economic activity through investment and financial strategic activities. The FMC works to ensure the financial health of the organization.

Md. Azizar Rahman

Md. Azizar Rahman is working as a Finance Management Officer at Eminence Associates for Social Development since July 2018. He completed his bachelor’s (Hons) and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Rajshahi. Mr. Azizar’s major skills are budgeting, financial proposal preparation for projects and programs, govt. VAT & Tax clearances. He has engaged with comprehensive accounting activities for organizational transactions. He has knowledge and experience in digital financing and digital banking.

Ethical Review Committee (ERC)

Ethical Review Committee (ERC) consists of five members elected annually by the Board of Directors. The ERC manages all kinds of issues related to Organizational Ethics. The committee reviews the ethical issues and gives Ethical Guidelines for research, principles of respect, and all the fundamental ethical  justice.
