This formal Committee of founding members – known as the FM consists of 20 Members. The founding members guides the organization for making its Strategic Direction and can advise, suggest, and support the organization to achieve the stated vision, mission, and goal of the organization. Asad Uzzaman

Asad Uzzaman is working at Fet Legesenter, a Medical Clinic in Fetsund, Norway. He graduated (MBBS) from Dhaka Medical College.

Dina Farhana

Dina Farhana is a public health professional from a nutrition background. She graduated in Nutrition and Food Science from INFC (Institute of Nutrition and Food Science), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked for Eminence for more than a decade and devoting her to a leadership role in managing projects and programs, advocacy, capacity building, and research with a particular interest in maternal, child health, and nutrition. She is focused and committed to achieving national nutrition targets and enthusiastic to put her effort into the overall development of the country.

Dr. M Qamrul Hassan

Dr. M Quamrul Hassan is serving as a Junior Consultant (C.C) at the Institute of Child and Mother Health. He is also serving as a Consultant of the Paediatric Department, at Apollo Hospital, Dhaka. Before these positions, he was a Registrar Paediatrics at the Institute of Child and Mother Health. FCPS (Paediatrics) in 1992, Institute of Post Graduate Medicine and Research and Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. M Quamrul Hassan graduated (MBBS) in 1987 from Chittagong Medical College. His areas of interest include Breastfeeding, Nutrition, Nephrology,  child health, etc. He has a notable number of published articles and research works on these fields.

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury is a pioneer phaco surgeon in Bangladesh who has introduced Phaco Surgery in Bangladesh. He is the Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He founded Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, a non-profit eye hospital for the underprivileged. Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He obtained his Fellowship in Ophthalmology in the year 1991 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has done his post-graduate fellowship in Phaco Surgery at Rahgudeep Eye Clinic, Ahmadabad and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has several publications and presentations to his credit at national and international forums. Dr. Chowdhury has also taken initiative to take the health services in Bangladesh at an international standard, by establishing Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. A multi-disciplinary hospital in Dhaka.

Dr. Major (Retd) Zeena Salwa

Dr. Major (Retd) Zeena Salwa Dr. Zeena has been working at Square Hospital Ltd since 2010 as Pediatrician. She has completed her medical degree (MBBS) from Rangpur Medical College under Rajshahi University. She has post-graduation on Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and also completed her highest degree FCPS (Pediatrics) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). She further received intensive clinical training in Pediatric Neurology from Dhaka Shishu Hospital and Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India. She has participated in many national and international conferences, presented and published papers. Her continued interest is in Pediatric Neurology including Developmental Pediatrics along with general Pediatrics. She is a member of national and international Pediatric associations and Pediatric Neurology association as well.

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder has been leading the non-government organization Eminence Associates for Social Development since its inception in August 2003. Academically Dr. Talukder completed his medical graduation (MBBS) from Rajshahi Medical University, Bangladesh, followed by his Masters in Philosophy (MPhil) degree in International Community Health from Oslo University, Norway. Public health and clinical research are the key concern areas of his activities. He also has a keen interest in implementing community-based programs through different innovative ideas and approaches. As a dynamic leader, he extended his current position at the global level as the President of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH).

Dr. Rasheduzzaman Shah

Dr. Rasheduzzaman Shah is working as a Child Health Advisor at the Department of Health and Nutrition, Save the Children – USA. His career goal is to improve program coverage and quality of health service delivery for comprehensive and sustainable improvement of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) initiatives. His interests also are focused to develop national, regional, and global public health and research capacity as well as help translating research results into action and thus leading to facilitate policy advocacy. He has a wide range of working experience in the Maternal and Child-health area. His active and willing association gives an important contribution to the health and development sphere.

Dr. Shahin Akter

Dr. Shahin Akter is a Public health and child health specialist with a quantitative background. She has over 20 years of experience in research, training, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on public health, maternal health, child health, child development, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, urban health, and HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is working as a Technical Director at Eminence Associates for Social Development, of which she previously served as a Coordinator. She holds an MBBS degree from Dhaka University, a General Diploma in Demography from The Demographic Centre, Cairo, and an MSc in Demography and Health from University of London, UK. She is a member of Bangladesh SUN Civil Society Network for Promoting Nutrition (BCSNPN), International Epidemiological Association (IEA), American Society of Nutrition (ASN). She has been involved with many research, training, advocacy, module, and BCC materials development since the starting of her career.

Gias Uddin Ahamed

Md. Khoorshid Alam

Md khoorshid Alam is working as a junior audit officer at Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd. Before joining Biman he served at Opsonin Chemical Industry as an accounts executive. He has completed his graduation degree from Dhaka City College in 1991 and Master’s degree from Jagannath College and University Dhaka under National university in 1994. His interests areas include public health, social development, traveling, etc.

Md. Abdul Mottalib

Md. Abdul Mottalib is a retired Senior Assistant Chief of External Resource Division, Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh. He has a long working experience with Ministry of LGRD & Cooperatives, Misistry of Planning, and Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. Md. Mottalib has completed MSc in Statistics from Rajshahi University and Diploma in statistics from Japan. He is trained in Community Rural Development from Thailand, Manpower Planning from India, Economic and Administrative Official’s Role from Iran, Administrative and Financial Regulation from Pakistan, and Industrial Management System from China. Planning and Administration are the major interests area of Md. Mottalib.

Md. Asadul Islam

Md. Asadul Islam is working as a General Manager (Finance, Account & Audit) at Navana Ltd. Prior to this position he was the Head of Finance (Beverage Unit) at Abdul Monem Limited, Dhaka. Md. Asadul Islam graduated (B.Com) in 1989 from Dhaka City College, Dhaka and earned his master’s (M.Com) from National University, Dhaka. He completed the CA Course in the priod of 1990-1994 from S.F. Ahmed & Co. (SFACO). In 2002, he earned the Chartered Secretary degree (Fellow Chartered Secretary) from The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and­­­ Managers of  Bangladesh (ICSMB), Dhaka.

Md. Golam Rabbani

Md. Golam Rabbani is currently teaching at the Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. His main interests include research, social policy (health, education and social protection), governance (central and local governance, and governance issues of NGOs), social and policy issues of environment and climate change, seasonal poverty, monitoring and evaluation, and early childhood development. Md. Rabbani has his Bachelor (Hons.) degree from Rajshahi University and Masters (Political Science) degree from Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden. He is the author of two books, and a number of research articles and book chapters that have come out in different international journals.

Md. Omer Faruk

Nazme Sabina

Nazme Sabina is Chief Executive of DevResonance Ltd, a development and management consulting in Dhaka. She was a senior national consultant at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of Bangladesh and provided technical support to World Bank, UNDP, WFP, and other agencies. She completed her MSS degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and MSc in Economics from Royal Holloway, University of London. Ms. Sabina’s main areas of research include livelihoods, food security, health systems, social protection, gender, and equity. She is the author of the research publications ‘Identifying the impact of religious extremism on the inclusion of comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights education in the secondary and higher secondary education system in Bangladesh’; Local Governance and Decentralization in Bangladesh: Politics and Economics (co-author), etc.

Prof Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam

Prof. Dr. Kazi Maruful Islam is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has been engaged in academia and development practices for quite many years as a development professional with experience in Child Rights and Governance projects, program design and evaluation, advocacy training and capacity building, and the application of ICTs in local government service delivery. He graduated in 1994 and earned his master’s degree in 1995 from the  Public Administration Department, Dhaka University. He earned a PhD. degree in 2007 from the Department of Political Science, South Asian Institute, University of Heidelberg, Germany. He has extensive works on public-private partnerships in the health sector and political economy of health reform in the context of national and local government. He has undertaken a series of research, training, and capacity development activities in recent years for several international organizations like The Asia Foundation, UNDP, CARE Bangladesh, UNICEF, WaterAid Bangladesh, ActionAid Bangladesh.

Shams El Arifeen

Shams El Arifeen is the first director of Centre for Child and Adolescent Health at ICDDR,B. Shams is also a professor at the James P. Grant School of Public Health at BRAC University in Bangladesh, where he teaches epidemiology. He has nearly 25 years of experience in child and neonatal health, health services and health systems research, including nine years in government health services, with a focus on health interventions for developing populations. Shams holds an MBBS and DrPH and is trained in medicine, public health, nutrition and epidemiology. Shams contributed to the 2003 Lancet Series on Child Survival and has published more than 140 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.

SM Shajedul Haque

SM Shajedul Haque is currently working as Research and Development Advisor at the Prasadha Pramuna Limbah Industry (PPLI) in Jakarta, Indonesia (An Environmental and Waste Management Company). Prior to that, he worked as Senior Associate Coordinator in Eminence, Bangladesh. Shajedul completed his MSS in Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He also achieved a Professional Diploma in Urban Environmental Management from the Swedish Institute of Public Administration (SIPU), Stockholm funded by SIDA. His working experiences and interests of work include Climate Change and Environment, Drilling Waste Management, and Solid Control.

T M Rahmatullah

T M Rahmatullah is a retired Administrative Officer of Director General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. He has more than 20 years of working experience with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh. Mr. Rahmatullah has his graduation from University of Karachi. He has an immense contribution to the Health and Administration field of Bangladesh. The major interest areas of T M Rahmatullah include Administration and Management.
