Azizur Rahman Talukder

Azizur Rahman Talukder is an Architect and CEO of Vastav consultants. He is also the proprietor of Vastav Design & Construction. He has working experience in different organizations and companies, among them Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Bangladesh AIR Force & Navy, Sena Kalyan Sangastha (SKS), etc are notable. His field of activities inclues a wide range of Building Design, Planning, Landscape Design, Interior & Furniture Design, Graphic Design, Project Management, etc. Mr. Talukder completed his Graduation (B. Arch.) in 1997 From Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. After his graduation, he opened his Architectural firm VASTAV Consultant in the year 1998 and designed different Residential buildings at Rupnagar, Kafrul, Pallabi, Mirpur, Goran, Banani, Uttara, Baridhara in Dhaka. Mr. Talukder is a member of Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).

Dina Farhana

Dina Farhana is a public health professional from a nutrition background. She graduated in Nutrition and Food Science from INFC (Institute of Nutrition and Food Science), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked for Eminence for more than a decade and devoting her to a leadership role in managing projects and programs, advocacy, capacity building, and research with a particular interest in maternal, child health, and nutrition. She is focused and committed to achieving national nutrition targets and enthusiastic to put her effort into the overall development of the country.

Dr. Abdul Hamid

Dr. ABM Akhter Hamid

Dr. ABM Akhter Hamid is a Public Health Specialist working more than 30 years in the field of immunization, epidemiology, project design and management, monitoring and evaluation, cold chain, supply chain management, capacity building, policy development, communication and advocacy. Currently he is a free lance consultant and have working experience with WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, FAO and other national and international organizations. Dr. Hamid has working experience in more than twenty countries. Besides working for strengthening the immunization program and polio eradication program he worked in Sierra Leone as a WHO consultant to response on Ebola outbreak, he worked in South Sudan for cVDPV outbreak, he worked in Timor Leste for validation of TT elimination, worked with WHO to develop the NDVP for COID-19 in Bangladesh. He is a medical graduate and completed his masters in Epidemiology.

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury is a pioneer phaco surgeon in Bangladesh who has introduced Phaco Surgery in Bangladesh. He is the Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He founded Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, a non-profit eye hospital for the underprivileged. Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He obtained his Fellowship in Ophthalmology in the year 1991 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has done his post-graduate fellowship in Phaco Surgery at Rahgudeep Eye Clinic, Ahmadabad and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has several publications and presentations to his credit at national and international forums. Dr. Chowdhury has also taken initiative to take the health services in Bangladesh at an international standard, by establishing Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. A multi-disciplinary hospital in Dhaka.

Dr. Mahfuzar Rahman

Dr. Mahfuzar Rahman is working as WASH Consultant at UNICEF, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is also appointed as Strategic Advisor at CIPRB (Centre for Injury Prevention and Research in Bangladesh). He is an established epidemiologist with a record of research extending over the last 20 years. Throughout his extensive public health career in the national and international arena, He has gathered substantial experience in designing, coordinating, and conducting large surveys, evaluating health and development programs, as well as monitoring outcomes employing longitudinal surveillance systems while focusing on equity. He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 16 book chapters, served as an associate editor Section Editor of BMC Public Health.

Dr. Makhduma Nargis

Dr. Makhduma Nargis is the Vice Chairperson at the Community Clinic Health Support Trust, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Bangladesh. Earlier she was the Additional Secretary & Project Director at Revitalization of Community Health Care Initiatives in Bangladesh (RCHCIB), MoHFW. She led the operation of 13,232 community clinics (CC) and to ensure community participation, formation of 1 Community Management group and 3 Community Support groups for each CC. She was a resource person for GDG (Guideline Development Group) for CHW of the World Health Organization (2016-2018). She was the keynote speaker on service delivery through CC in rural Bangladesh in WHA side events (2014-2015).

Dr. Mamunur Rashid

Dr. Mamunur Rashid is working as an Assistant Professor of Respiratory Medicine at   National  Institute of Diseases of Chest and Hospital (NIDCH). He was enrolled in the medicine in-patient department and respiratory intensive care unit of NIDCH and was engaged in the management of in-patients and critically ill respiratory patients. Before this position, Dr. Mamunur worked in Chittagong Medical College. He performed fiber-optic Bronchoscopy as well as Pleuroscopy for diagnostic, therapeutic, and treating purposes. He is a medical graduate from Rajshahi Medical College. He obtained Fellowship on Internal Medicine (FCPS) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). Dr. Mamun completed Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Respiratory Medicine from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). His field of interest is Interventional Bronchoscopy and Critical Care in Respiratory Medicine. Dr. Mamunur Rashid received the “Young Investigator Award’ from the Asian Pacific Society of Respiralogy (APSR), Yokohama, Japan. He joined a workshop on Fibre-Optic Bronchoscopy (FOB) organized by Indian Association of Bronchology in Agra, India.

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder has been leading the non-government organization Eminence Associates for Social Development since its inception in August 2003. Academically Dr. Md. Talukder has completed his medical graduation (MBBS) from Bangladesh followed by his Masters in Philosophy (MPhil) degree in International Community Health from Oslo University, Norway. Public health and clinical research are the key concern areas of his activities. He also has a keen interest in implementing community-based programs through different innovative ideas and approaches. As a dynamic leader, he extended his current position at the global level as the President of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH).

Dr. Muhammod Abdus Sabur

Dr. Muhammod Abdus Sabur is an Adjunct Professor at North South University and Dhaka University. Earlier he was working as a Senior Health Advisor for UNDP in its Bangladesh project titled as Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Facility. He was the Country Representative of Water Aid Bangladesh and was in the position of the Health and Population Sector Manager at UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) in Bangladesh. He was the sector Coordinator for Health and Population at Care Bangladesh. He has done his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1981, and master of Community Health (MCommH) from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, England in 1989. He has worked as a Consultant for many national and international organizations.

Dr. Munir Ahmed

Dr. Munir Ahmed is the Country Director of Orbis International Bangladesh. As a doctor with further training in tropical medicine and hygiene, management of public health, and social development, Munir began his career with a great launchpad from which to tackle health concerns. Having previously worked with UN agencies, local governments, and non-governmental organizations across Bangladesh and Afghanistan, in 2012, Munir directed his expertise towards fighting avoidable blindness. He has also been successful in influencing policy at the government level, advocating for the inclusion of childhood blindness, Retinopathy of Prematurity, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vision Centers, and Human Resources for Eye Health within the country’s National Eye Care Plan.

Dr. Munmun Akter

Dr. Mun Mun Akter is working as a pathologist at BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders) General Hospital. Before this position, she was a Medical Officer at CRP Hospital, Mirpur, Dhaka. Dr. Mun Mun graduated (MBBS) in 2010 from Rangpur Medical College and.

Dr. Musfequl Amin

Dr. Musfequl Amin is a M.D. Phase B Resident of the department of hepatology, Banghabanndhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Shahbag, Dhaka. He completed his MBBS degree from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical college in 2007 and Completed his 1-year internship from Sylhet MAG Osmani medical college hospital in 2008. He completed CCD from BIRDEM in 2010. He joined BCS health in 2011 and worked in Thana Health Complex Nalchiti, Jalokathi, Mymensing Medical College Hospital as an indoor medical officer, and National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital as an Emergency medical officer. His area of interest in preventive communicable and non communicable diseases in urban and rural areas.

Dr. Rasheduzzaman Shah

Dr. Rasheduzzaman Shah is working as a Child Health Advisor at the Department of Health and Nutrition, Save the Children – USA. His career goal is to improve program coverage and quality of health service delivery for comprehensive and sustainable improvement of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) initiatives. His interests also are focused to develop national, regional, and global public health and research capacity as well as help translating research results into action and thus leading to facilitate policy advocacy. He has a wide range of working experience in the Maternal and Child-health area. His active and willing association gives an important contribution to the health and development sphere.

Dr. S.M. Quamrul Akter Sanju

Dr. S.M. Quamrul Akter Sanju is an ex Associate Professor of Surgery at Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka. He graduated (MBBS) from Mymensingh Medical College, Mymensingh. He earned his MRCS degree from England.

Dr. Shahin Akter

Dr. Shahin Akter is a Public health and child health specialist with a quantitative background. She has over 20 years of experience in research, training, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on public health, maternal health, child health, child development, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, urban health, and HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is working as a Technical Director at Eminence Associates for Social Development, of which she previously served as a Coordinator. She holds an MBBS degree from Dhaka University, a General Diploma in Demography from The Demographic Centre, Cairo, and an MSc in Demography and Health from University of London, UK. She is a member of Bangladesh SUN Civil Society Network for Promoting Nutrition (BCSNPN), International Epidemiological Association (IEA), American Society of Nutrition (ASN). She has been involved with many research, training, advocacy, module, and BCC materials development since the starting of her career.

Kazi Fayzus Salahin

Kazi Fayzus Salahin is working as a Senior Data Analyst at Eminence. Besides this position, he is also acting as a Project Implementation Officer, where he has been engaged in several research projects with Asian Development Bank (ADB), Global Research Innovations Team (GRIT), Washington D.C. USA, Spire Research and Consulting, and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mr. Salahin is a graduate and post-graduate of Statistics from University of Rajshahi. Moreover, he obtained an MBA degree from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. His interests areas include data analysis, data management, team building, public health, research, education policy, nutrition, urban health, etc. Mr. Salahin is the co-author of several publications.

Md. Arif Hossain

Md. Arif Hossain is working as a senior administrative officer at Eminence Associates for Social Development. Before this position, he was a Research Associate at this organization. He graduated in 2010 and earned his master’s degree in 2011 from the Department of Philosophy at Jagannath University. As a Research Associate, he got his specialization in questionnaire preparation, data analysis, supervision of data collection, proposal management and submission, etc.

Md. Asadul Islam

Md. Asadul Islam is working as a General Manager (Finance, Account & Audit) at Navana Ltd. Prior to this position, he was the Head of Finance (Beverage Unit) at Abdul Monem Limited, Dhaka. Md. Asadul Islam graduated (B.Com) in 1989 from Dhaka City College, Dhaka, and earned his master’s (M.Com) from National University, Dhaka. He completed the CA Course in 1994 from S.F. Ahmed & Co. (SFACO). In 2002, he earned the Chartered Secretary degree (Fellow Chartered Secretary) from The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and­­­ Managers of  Bangladesh (ICSMB), Dhaka.

Md. Latiful Bari

Md. Latiful Bari was born on 02 February 1970. He is the son of Shamsuddin Ahmed. His spouse’s name is Fahmeeda Husna. He completed his Masters of Management. Though he is a Businessman, besides his business he has engaged in various social development activities. He has been working with many NGOs for last ten years. Right now he is supporting a few research works in the education sector of Bangladesh.

Md. Mostafizur Rahman

Md. Mostafizur Rahman is working as a Senior Program Implement Officer at Eminence. He completed his bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Rajshahi. His interest areas are research, advocacy, and program implementation focusing mostly on development studies, non-communicable disease, maternal health and nutrition, childhood development. He has been engaged with comprehensive research activities for perception survey, baseline, monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning studies, as well as multiple advocacy and production of BCC materials since the start of work. It also included community outreach, training, capacity building, volunteering activities, and team building. Moreover, He Has knowledge and experience in community participation approaches in nutrition and health programs; and sensitivity to diversity issues such as working with women and stigmatized groups.

Md. Saddam Hossain

Md. Saddam Hossain is working as a Senior Data Management Officer at Eminence. He completed his bachelor’s (Hons.) and Master’s degree in Sociology from University of Rajshahi. His interest areas are research, training, and program implementation focusing mostly on development studies, non-communicable disease, maternal health, and nutrition. Md. Shamsul Alam Khan Chowdhury

Md. Shamsul Alam Khan Chowdhury is a person with more than 30 years of working experience in the microfinance sector. He worked as the Head of Training at Shakti Foundation. Earlier this position, he was the Head of Program (Microfinance) at Shakti Foundation. He has completed the B. A (Hons.) in Economics and Master In Economics From University of Rajshahi. Before working at Shakti Foundation he worked a long period of time at different Leading Management Positions at Grameen Bank, among them; Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Grameen in the UK, Project Director (PD) at Grameen Carso, Mexico, General Manager at Grameen Trust, Project Director (PD) at Diyarbakir, Turkey are notable.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Hanif Tablu is a Neonatal & Pediatric Surgeon doctor in Dhaka. He has been working as a professor at Dept. of Pediatric Surgery, Dhaka Medical College & Hospital since 2002. Dr. Tablu is a former Professor of Dhaka Medical College Hosptal (DMCH) and a former Surgeon of Dhaka Shishu Hospital. He has completed his medical degree (MBBS) from Dhaka Medical College (DMC), and Masters degrgee (MMEd) from Dhaka Medical College (DMC). Dr. Tablu Studied as a International Training Fellow at Harvard Medical School.

Prof. Dr. Dilruba Akhter

Prof. Dr. Dilruba Akhter is the Director and Head of the department of Obs and Gynae, Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH), Matuail, Dhaka. Before this position, she was a Professor (In-charge) of the department of Obs & Gynae at ICMH. He graduated (MBBS) in 1992 from Rangpupr Medical College and earned her post-graduation degree (FCPS – Obs & Gynae) in 2005. She has been involved in Research on Maternal Health for 20 years.

Prof. Dr. Sameena Chowdhury

Prof. Dr. Sameena Chowdhury is a Professor of Gynecologist and Obstetrician. She is an Ex president of The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB). Currently she is working at Central Hospital Ltd., Dhaka. She is also an Ex Technical Expert & Adisor of Midwifery Dept. at BRAC University. Prof. Dr. Sameena studied at Dhaka Medical College and Univesity of London.

Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain

Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain has worked 33 years in government services and retired as Director-General of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of Bangladesh. He is now working as a National Consultant in World Health Organization (WHO) in Bangladesh. Alongside, He is the Advisor of Bangladesh NCD Forum, a network under Eminence Associates for Social Development. Academically, he obtained graduation in Medicine (MBBS) and M.Phil (Pathology) from Dhaka University, Honorary FCPS (Histopathology) from Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons, Post Graduate certificate course in Pathology from the University of Edinburgh, UK. He was Senior National Advisor at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN) in Bangladesh.

Prof. Dr. Wahida Khanam

Prof. Dr. Wahida Khanam is a professor and & Head of the faculty of Pediatrics at Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH). Matuail, Dhaka. She is also in charge of Saleh Child Development and Disability Management Center (SCDDMC), ICMH. Before this position she was the Lecturer in Biochemistry and Pathology at University of Sciences and Technology (USTC), Chittagong. She has done her MBBS in 1989 and FCPS (Pediatrics) in 2000. She is a member of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, a group member of SAARC Society of Child Neurology, India, also a Life time member of Bangladesh Pediatrics Association.

Prof. Dr. Pranab Kumar Panday

Prof. Dr. Pranab Kumar Panday is a Professor at the Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He was a Senior Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Development Sociology, Cornell University, the USA in 2012. He completed his MSS degree in Public Administration from Rajshahi University and Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong. Professor Panday’s main areas of research include public policy, public administration, public sector management, governance, and gender studies. His major book publications include Actors and Outcomes, Women Empowerment in South Asia: NGO Interventions and Agency Building in Bangladesh, Strengthening Local Governance in Bangladesh: Reforms, Participation, and Accountability, etc.

Prof. Sohel Ahmed

Prof. Sohel Ahmed is a Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Jahangirnagar University. He is also a Consultant of Pathology Laboratory Services, Enam Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka. Prof. Sohel Ahmed was a Research Fellow & Research Officer of Depts. of Microbiology and Immunology at BIRDEM Hospital, Dhaka. Prof. Ahmed earned his graduation and master’s degree from the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department at University of Dhaka. He earned his PhD. in Medical Sciences from Tohoku University, Japan.

Sahadat Hossain

Sahadat Hossain is a successful businessman and a very enthusiastic Social Worker. He comes from a very patriotic freedom fighter family. Being a successful entrepreneur and developer he is also doing his activity in the Education sector. He is the chairman of Kallyanpur Girls School and College, Kallyanpur, Dhaka.

Shirin Khanam

Shirin Khanam is working as a Senior Assistant coordinator at Eminence. She has more than eight years of working experience in various areas of health and social care including epidemiology, statistical and information analysis, health training, health protection & promotion, Maternal and Child health & nutrition (MCHN). Shirin Khanam got her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Food & Nutrition from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her skills include meetings coordination with partner agencies, assistance in preparing, organizing, and editing written and visual information to be used for internal and external communication and information purposes, supporting the authority for developing/coordinating ongoing communications program for current and prospective donors. She has working experience with several research projects in national sphere.
