Eminence is managed by an Executive Committee (EC) with 11 members in it including high profile scientists, physicians, economists, sociologists, education specialists, and journalists. EC is responsible to support the Chief Executive Officer to implement day-to-day work of eminence as well as manage internal management committees and Board of Directors.

Dr. Makhduma Nargis

Dr. Makhduma Nargis is the Vice Chairperson at the Community Clinic Health Support Trust, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Bangladesh. Earlier she was the Additional Secretary & Project Director at Revitalization of Community Health Care Initiatives in Bangladesh (RCHCIB), MoHFW. She led the operation of 13,232 community clinics (CC) and to ensure community participation, formation of 1 Community Management group and 3 Community Support groups for each CC. She was a resource person for GDG (Guideline Development Group) for CHW of the World Health Organization (2016-2018). She was the keynote speaker on service delivery through CC in rural Bangladesh in WHA side events (2014-2015).

Sahadat Hossain

Sahadat Hossain is a successful businessman and a very enthusiastic Social Worker. He comes from a very patriotic freedom fighter family. Being a successful entrepreneur and developer he is also doing his activity in the Education sector. He is the chairman of Kallyanpur Girls School and College, Kallyanpur, Dhaka.

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder

Dr. Md. Shamim Hayder Talukder has been leading the non-government organization Eminence Associates for Social Development since its inception in August 2003. Academically Dr. Md. Talukder has completed his medical graduation (MBBS) from Bangladesh followed by his Masters in Philosophy (MPhil) degree in International Community Health from Oslo University, Norway. Public health and clinical research are the key concern areas of his activities. He also has a keen interest in implementing community-based programs through different innovative ideas and approaches. As a dynamic leader, he extended his current position at the global level as the President of the International Society for Urban Health (ISUH).

Md. Latiful Bar

Md. Latiful Bari was born on 02 February 1970. He is the son of Shamsuddin Ahmed. His spouse’s name is Fahmeeda Husna. He completed his Masters of Management. Though he is a Businessman, besides his business he has engaged in various social development activities. He has been working with many NGOs for last ten years. Right now he is supporting a few research works in the education sector of Bangladesh.

Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain

Prof. Dr. Shah Monir Hossain has worked 33 years in government services and retired as Director-General of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of Bangladesh. He is now working as a National Consultant in World Health Organization (WHO) in Bangladesh. Alongside, He is the Advisor of Bangladesh NCD Forum, a network under Eminence Associates for Social Development. Academically, he obtained graduation in Medicine (MBBS) and M.Phil (Pathology) from Dhaka University, Honorary FCPS (Histopathology) from Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons, Post Graduate certificate course in Pathology from the University of Edinburgh, UK. He was Senior National Advisor at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN) in Bangladesh.

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury

Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury is a pioneer phaco surgeon in Bangladesh who has introduced Phaco Surgery in Bangladesh. He is the Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital. He founded Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, a non-profit eye hospital for the underprivileged. Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He obtained his Fellowship in Ophthalmology in the year 1991 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has done his post-graduate fellowship in Phaco Surgery at Rahgudeep Eye Clinic, Ahmadabad and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has several publications and presentations to his credit at national and international forums. Dr. Chowdhury has also taken initiative to take the health services in Bangladesh at an international standard, by establishing Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. A multi-disciplinary hospital in Dhaka.

Md. Shamsul Alam Khan Chowdhur

Md. Shamsul Alam Khan Chowdhury is a person with more than 30 years of working experience in the microfinance sector. He worked as the Head of Training at Shakti Foundation. Earlier this position, he was the Head of Program (Microfinance) at Shakti Foundation. He has completed the B. A (Hons.) in Economics and Master In Economics From University of Rajshahi. Before working at Shakti Foundation he worked a long period of time at different Leading Management Positions at Grameen Bank, among them; Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Grameen in the UK, Project Director (PD) at Grameen Carso, Mexico, General Manager at Grameen Trust, Project Director (PD) at Diyarbakir, Turkey are notable.

Dr. Muhammod Abdus Sabur

Dr. Muhammod Abdus Sabur is an Adjunct Professor at North South University and Dhaka University. Earlier he was working as a Senior Health Advisor for UNDP in its Bangladesh project titled as Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Facility. He was the Country Representative of Water Aid Bangladesh and was in the position of the Health and Population Sector Manager at UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) in Bangladesh. He was the sector Coordinator for Health and Population at Care Bangladesh. He has done his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1981, and master of Community Health (MCommH) from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, England in 1989. He has worked as a Consultant for many national and international organizations.

Prof. Dr. Wahida Khanam

Prof. Dr. Wahida Khanam is a professor and & Head of the faculty of Pediatrics at Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH). Matuail, Dhaka. She is also in charge of Saleh Child Development and Disability Management Center (SCDDMC), ICMH. Before this position she was the Lecturer in Biochemistry and Pathology at University of Sciences and Technology (USTC), Chittagong. She has done her MBBS in 1989 and FCPS (Pediatrics) in 2000. She is a member of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, a group member of SAARC Society of Child Neurology, India, also a Life time member of Bangladesh Pediatrics Association.

Dr. Pranab Kumar Panday

Dr. Pranab Kumar Panday is a Professor at the Department of Public Administration, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He was a Senior Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Development Sociology, Cornell University, the USA in 2012. He completed his MSS degree in Public Administration from Rajshahi University and Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong. Professor Panday’s main areas of research include public policy, public administration, public sector management, governance, and gender studies. His major book publications include Actors and Outcomes, Women Empowerment in South Asia: NGO Interventions and Agency Building in Bangladesh, Strengthening Local Governance in Bangladesh: Reforms, Participation, and Accountability, etc.

Dina Farhana

Dina Farhana is a public health professional from a nutrition background. She graduated in Nutrition and Food Science from INFC (Institute of Nutrition and Food Science), University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She worked for Eminence for more than a decade and devoting her to a leadership role in managing projects and programs, advocacy, capacity building, and research with a particular interest in maternal, child health, and nutrition. She is focused and committed to achieving national nutrition targets and enthusiastic to put her effort into the overall development of the country.
