On 7th May 2014 afternoon CEO of Eminence, Associates for Social Development Dr. Shamim Hayder Talukder had a consultation meeting with the BGMEA Vice President Md. Shahidullah Azim, General Secretary Ehsan-Ul-Fattah and Senior Deputy Secretary Umme Saira in the BGMEA premises. The discussion continued on the agenda as briefing the Eminence and UNICEF combined project “Building A Model of Mother Friendly Urban Workplace to Promote IYCF Among Working Mothers”, organization of a stakeholder advocacy meeting in this month with 20-25 RMG owners lead by Eminence with support from BGMEA where representative from UNICEF will also be available and to find out scopes and opportunities for prospective scale up of the model in the RMG sectors. BGMEA authorities greatly esteemed the project model and expressed their enormous interest to adopt the scheme throughout their twelve cluster health service centers all around Bangladesh. The preliminary thought that came up through further discussion was to mobilize and expand the intended model all over 3600 garment factories of our country by using the existing developed tools with the combined effort of BGMEA and Eminence. The BGMEA vice president keep suggestion to organize a launching program shortly with the assistance of BGMEA among 200 to 400 garments of Bangladesh to orient the owners and health service providers and welfare officers on the model and to encourage them to be a part of these activities. The meeting was over with an emphasis from BGMEA that Eminence should continue the evaluation after scaling up the model.
