Nevertheless, what experts from this field assume that, the process should be more comprehensive. Taking this in consideration the American Center and Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) organized first of its kind of regional South Asia Summit on Social Media for Digital Empowerment held on September 19 and 20, 2013 at The American Center, New Delhi. Supported by the USAID – India – this event brought together more than 200 participants, speakers, experts, and players from the various stakeholders group to discuss the emerging trends of social media, how it is influencing new generation and all aspects of life cycle and how the social media tools could be used to empower the people at large and various issues and causes in particular.

 As a US state department, alumni representative from Eminence participated in the event and talked about various issues on how social media is influencing and empowering the Bangladeshi nation. She demonstrated on empowering women through ICT, Effective digital storytelling. Apart from Bangladesh other countries from South Asia – India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan, Maldives and Tibet also participated in the summit
