As a part of the end-line assessment on “Protecting and Promoting Food Security and Nutrition for Families and Children in Bangladesh”, members of the Eminence team recently collected blood samples in the study areas situated at the southern Bangladesh.  This study was a part of the big end-line evaluation of the MGDF project, being implemented in Manpura, Hajirhat, Charkukrimikri, under Bhola district and Bukabunia, Ramna under Barguna. As a part of the end-line assessment on “Protecting and Promoting Food Security and Nutrition for Families and Children in Bangladesh”, members of the Eminence team recently collected blood samples in the study areas situated at the southern Bangladesh.  This study was a part of the big end-line evaluation of the MGDF project, being implemented in Manpura, Hajirhat, Charkukrimikri, under Bhola district and Bukabunia, Ramna under Barguna. Charmadras under the Bhola district. The MDGF project is an effort of the Joint Program (JP) between World Food Program (WFP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).


The blood sample collection started on late June 24, 2013. Before every collection mothers signed informed consent form. This blood collection was taken under consideration to get the anemia status of the project population. This portion of the biochemical sample collection was done under the direct supervision of three (3) medically gradate professionals and two (2) paramedics. Using Hemocue machine has been carried out to see the changes of hemoglobin concentration in blood among the children aged 6-23months in the project area after the course of intervention.
