Dr Islam met the gathering to know the views, problems of patients and he talked with them frankly to resolve their problems. The vibrant discussion of the participants was really amazing. At the inception of the meeting, Dr Islam discussed about non communicable diseases and its risk factors. As the non communicable diseases are impossible to be cured, Dr. Islam emphasized on nutritional behavior because it helps a person to keep a healthy life even in diseased condition. In the open discussion session the patients shared their own experiences and ideas. They asked frequent question about heart, weight, exercise, various cardiac problem and so on. Dr Islam was very happy to answer them in this forum as it is quite impossible to talk about overall health in chamber in a short time. However, the patients came up with a common understanding that proper nutritional behavior is yet to be mainstreamed in Bangladesh, where the nutritionists also have a very strong role to play. The doctor argued about the importance of the role of a dietician. Dr. Islam told that treatment has three part- Healthy lifestyle, healthy diet and medicine. And medicine can help to heal a disease only 30%. Without healthy lifestyle and diet, medicines cannot work appropriately.

At the end of the meeting the participants were agreed on this point that this kind of effort should be made regularly.

They sang in Chorus “ be the change to make the change”.
